What are rack cards?

Rack cards generally refer to 4″ x 9″ printed cards that are used to promote a specific company, business, or service. Hotels, restaurants, convenience stores, and other high-traffic locations will display rack cards featuring businesses that they feel their guests might be interested in. Some businesses may even print rack cards for their most popular features and services and display them at their counters or front desks.

Because many rack card displays feature dozens of competing businesses, it’s important that the copy and design of rack cards be bold, colorful, and attention-getting. Many companies choose to print coupons and discounts on their rack cards as an extra incentive for people to pick them up and keep them.

he production time for most custom postcards is 2 to 4 business days. (Certain paper stocks may require extra production time.) Production time begins a day after you have approved your order and your payment is processed. If your order is approved and payment is processed by 9 AM PT/ 11 AM CT/ 12 PM ET, then production time begins the same day.

Shipping will take an additional 2 to 6 business days, depending on the shipping method chosen at checkout. If you need your rack cards sooner, please choose rush printing (not available for all paper stocks) and expedited shipping. 

We accept the following file formats: TIF, TIFF, EPS, AI, PSD, BMP, GIF, JPG, PNG, and PDF. Please note the maximum file upload size is 75 MB. Files must be in CMYK mode to ensure accurate color output. The resolution of your rack files should be set to 350 dpi.

Please refer to our downloadable rack card templates to make sure your design will print exactly as you intended. All of our templates are marked with the safe zone, trim, and bleed requirements for each product. The Safe Zone is the area where all your critical elements (text, images, logos, etc) should be placed so they are not cut off from the final product. The Bleed is the part outside of the Safe Zone that gets trimmed off during the cutting process. We require a 0.1” bleed for rack card files.
